Innovation and entrepreneurship are catalysts for the sustainable development of our planet, driving positive change across industries. Pioneering technologies and eco-friendly business models not only address pressing environmental challenges but also create economic opportunities. By fostering a culture of innovation and encouraging entrepreneurial ventures focused on sustainability, we pave the way for a greener future.

The NewGen - Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC) of CVR College of Engineering has witnessed a period of remarkable growth and activity in innovation and entrepreneurship over the past years. With a generous budget of ₹5 crore received from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), the club has organized nearly 80 events, nurtured various student projects, and established a dedicated innovation space to foster a vibrant culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.

We currently have an innovation work group of 72 members, who are working with great ideas, have good number of patents, accomplishments, and appraisals from industry experts. We are working in collaboration with many institutes and organizations such as IIT Hyderabad, ICAR. Collaborations with renowned incubation centres like ICFAI and AIC ALEAP have further empowered students to translate their ideas into market-ready Minimum Viable Products (MVPs). This report highlights the CVR NewGen IEDC's key achievements and offers recommendations for future development.

Key Achievements:

  •  Event Organization: Successfully conducted 80 diverse events, including workshops, hackathons, guest lectures, and competitions, engaging a large student population.
  • Project Funding: Utilized the DST grant to fund numerous student projects across various disciplines, nurturing their innovative potential.
  • Innovation Space Development: Established a dedicated space equipped with modern tools and resources, serving as a hub for creative collaboration and experimentation.
  • Industry Partnerships: Partnered with prestigious incubation centres (ICFAI and AIC ALEAP) to provide students with expert guidance and support in converting their projects into commercially viable solutions.
  • MVP Development: Facilitated the development of several market-ready MVPs, demonstrating the tangible impact of the club's initiatives .

Looking Ahead: Charting the Course for Innovation

As the innovation club, we stand at a pivotal juncture, brimming with the creative energy of our members and the potential to make a real impact. The Innovation Club aims to serve as a platform for the individuals who are on a quest to explore, develop, and showcase their innovative ideas and projects, while also fostering creativity and critical thinking among students from various disciplines. 

Our objectives include:

  •     Encouraging a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students.
  •      Providing a space for interdisciplinary collaboration and idea exchange.
  •        Organizing workshops, seminars, and events to enhance practical skills related to innovation.
  •    Facilitating networking opportunities with industry professionals and mentors across various research institutions, embracing sustainable development.
  •        Promoting a hands-on approach to learning through project-based activities.

The club will be open to all students across various disciplines, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration. Members will have the opportunity to participate in club activities, workshops, and events, gaining practical experience and exposure to real-world dynamic challenges. They will be provided with resources and support to turn their innovative ideas into projects and then to viable products that can solve real-life problems. This will be a student-led club with minimal faculty involvement, which engages and empowers students to make difference in their community.
